CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

RAD Ballet

Ballet Is taught from the R.A.D Syllabus. We encourage all POSE students to do ballet as it is the best technical base for dancers. Ballet teaches poise, grace and discipline. Click the link below to learn more about RAD Ballet.

Jazz and Hip Hop

Jazz Classes start with a warm-up, then technical work including kicks, leaps and spins are done from the corner, finishing the class with choreography.

Fast becoming one of the most popular dance styles Hip Hop classes include choreography seen on most music videos taught to the most recent hits. A fun and enjoyable class that is great for someone who wants to learn to move but doesn’t want to get too “technical”..

Contemporary

The desire to tell a story through dance has made contemporary one of our most popular classes. Contemporary is great for technique, has more freedom than ballet, and is fantastic for expression and movement through music.

PreSchool - READY SET DANCE!

Preschool dance is about helping children learn to tap into their imaginations and express themselves creatively. PPA is proud to be offering official ‘READY SET DANCE’ classes- a brand new music and movement class with a major emphasis on fun and creating confident little people! READY SET DANCE has been developed using the knowledge of successful dance teachers who have been running classes for this age group for over thirty years. Targeted at ages two to five years old, the syllabus is divided into two levels. The specially-designed Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap exercises are perfect for both boys and girls in this foundational level of training.

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is an important part of dance. At PPA, we offer and there are two styles of classes – one for pink and green stream students and a compulsory one for elite dance program students. These classes consist of strengthening work, followed by basic tricks working within each child’s ability.

Tap

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. 'Broadway' tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater, and 'Rhythm' tap focuses on musicality.

Singing and Acting

Students transform before our very eyes through the power of acting and singing.  Our drama and vocal classes give students the opportunity to explore their imagination and become more creative while developing confidence. Our students develop newfound skills in singing and acting, whilst growing in self-esteem, developing creativity, and developing great social skills.
